How to learn about business for my future career?

I am a freshman in high school. And I WILL own a business when I get older. I am not exactly sure what I want to do, but I am thinking about some type of Investment Company, such as a bank, or a mergers and acquisition company.

Since I am 100% positive that this is what I will do, I want to start as soon as possible.

There are multiple things that I want to know. First off what qualities/personality traits will I need to become better in business, or what qualities/personality traits will help me in business? They could be very general things such as people skills (which I currently lack, and thus need to improve on). Or they could be very specific things, like being good at golf.

I not only want to know what skills and personality traits I need, but also I want to learn some of the business terms and ideas/methods for doing business. This can include international trading laws, business laws in general, sales methods, marketing, etc.

I would appreciate any information on books or other resources related to these subjects.

So far some of the things I have and am doing in order to improve my knowledge of business and to prepare for business are: 1) I have created my own business. I have an online business that is not doing very well and has only made about $100. Ironically the site is about making money online. 2) Doing well in school. This year I will get a 4.0. This will help me to find a good college to go to. 3) Asking questions. I try to ask questions to my parents and my brother (who’s an accountant) whenever I think of business related questions.

I also would like to know what job options there are, and which ones would be the best ones. Keep in mind that this will not be my ultimate career; rather I will use this to acquire information so that I will have enough knowledge to start my own business. I will stick with this job for a maximum of 5 years, probably less.

I have 3 main criteria for the jobs: 1) Must give me knowledge. The job must allow me to learn a lot about the business world. And it should deal directly with the financial aspect of businesses. 2) Must provide a descent income. It must be enough to live off of, as well as some extra to invest in my company. 3) It must allow me to meet people who are wealthy or will be in the near future. I want to be able to easily get potential investors that are willing to invest at least a few million dollars into my company.

Also I plan to go to college, so I want to know what some good classes to take in college are. And how can I prepare to go to college.

If anyone has information about this I would love to hear it. Any books, websites, advice that you have, etc. would be great.

Thank you, Kyle

P.S. sorry I know this isn't related to web master and making money online, but I thought that some body might have some ideas/suggestions.

LOL.

Go back to college confidential, kid.

  1. Get good grades in HS, go to Ivy League School.
  2. Be top of class in college, be I-banker at Goldman Sachs
  3. Not act like a tool and make everyone hate you.

It's literally that simple.

banker88This is definitely a joke post from that guy who always does these...I forgot his user name.

No, this guy is for real.

Go on whois.net and look up the domain names that he's advertising.

" Registrant: Kyle Farrah

Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com) Domain Name: HELPMEINVENT.COM

Domain servers in listed order: NS1.SEDOPARKING.COM NS2.SEDOPARKING.COM "

This guy is for real.

More than likely not a joke post. Lacks certain elements, notably sardonic tone.

Rather, seems to be more convincingly portray himself as the geeky, socially awkward young teen he claims to be. Purely conjecture, but my guess would be that he was probably beat up a lot by classmates.

prufHe could be just trolling WSO, though.

Go to whois.net and look up all the domain names -

GIRLSMYSPACELAYOUT.COM HELPMEINVENT.COM JARGONABLE.COM MAKE1000.COM YOURABOVEIT.COM PTRBUX.COM YANKEESNEWYORK.COM

They're all registered to Kyle Farrah. Why would he register all these domain names, which cost like about $70 minimum, just to troll WSO?

Well, I guess he could be taking trolling to a whole new level.
