How to Succeed in Virtual SA Programs In the Era of COVID-19

Dear fellow moneys,

I’m an incoming SA quant at a BB. Like many other SAs, my internship has been shortened and moved entirely virtual. I’m seeking advice regarding three questions that I have. How to enhance your performance and make good impressions with 0 in-person communications? How to network within the company effectively in this predicament? And finally how to secure the return offer when internship length is cut in half and when hiring in low? I’ve got some ideas but I wanna hear what you guys have to say. Thanks!

I was thinking about having daily skype sessions with my direct supervisors and weekly skype sesh with internship program managers to build rapport and make impression. But after talking with some analyst friends, I realize when people are wfh they kinda view skype sessions negatively. Since they are in PJs and couped up in their own space all day, skype sessions are kind of invasive in that context I guess. So I don't know if I should do it like that, or what frequencies are appropriate.
