HS Seniors....It isn't the end of the World!

Congratulations to getting admitted to your ED 1 schools, HS Seniors! On behalf of the finance community, we are pleased to say that the future is exciting! I’m sure a majority of you have applied and were accepted to top undergraduate business schools and are up to the task to cement yourselves within its network. Congrats, congrats, and congrats. You’ve “made it.” Now work hard and bust your ass. No need to have too much fun and jeopardize your career opportunities. Now, to the focus of this “PSA (?)” To all of you that were rejected or deferred by your “first-choice” universities, it is not the end of the world. I to, was denied by my first choice and ended up at a top 25 school that I had absolutely no intention of going to. But, like the great Steve Jobs once said, “You can't connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards.” I am now connecting the dots looking backwards, and it all makes sense. I met some of my closest friends at this University, and they have altered my path completely – specifically, went into college to become a Computer Programmer, but now work in Investment Banking. A complete career switch. To this day, I am still grateful for how everything has played out. My advice: Keep grinding and moving forward. The college application is a huge and important step in your careers, but at the same time, trust your gut that everything will end up working out in your favor at the end of the day. At the end of the day, the only variable you can change in the success formula, is the “x” amount of hours of hustle you put in. Cheers! And Best of luck!
