I don't know what to do...

Hey,

I need some advice!!

I had an interview scheduled today with two senior people at UniCredit but it was postponed. So the interview is tomorrow and a colleague of mine just sorted me out with an interview at Credit Suisse tomorrow morning... I'm still waiting to hear from my mentor who told me yesterday that he would look into what Goldman has to offer. (Note: He is a goldman alumnus)

I will most likely get the internship at Credit Suisse since I've been recommended and my colleague said that I would have to do something extremely stupid in order to fuck it up. He will most likely ask me to make my decision on the spot or call me an hour later or so. (This is a structured products sales internship - not a structured internship)

My interview with UniCredit is in the evening and they seem pretty keen. (This is a strategic/structured equity solutions internship - structured, I am really interested in that particular business area so that would be a good fit for me.)

What should I do in case I get an offer from CS? Should I ask him to give me some time to decide? Should I mention that I have got another interview in the evening? Should I wait for a response from my mentor?

I have never been in a situation like this before...

Thanks

  1. Don't count on any offers until they're in hand

  2. Don't EVER decline a position unless you already have another position lined up.

Most of the time I don't have a major issue with reneging, but if someone vouched for you that's a little different. You don't want to make that person look bad.

nauprillioncheers! thats more or less common sense. I just wanted to know how to handle the a situation like that if it should occur.... @ flake: its basically the same as corporate equity derivatives + equity linked

Sounds too complicated for me. I add cells in excel, sometimes I even average them.

nauprillionJust received an email from one of the guys at CS saying that I cold start 1.3. if they get an approval from the London office. What are they gonna check? My university grades at slightly sub-IB benchmark.....

Could be just double checking headcount. Sometimes the hiring managers and HR are not on the same page.
