Your best shot is small boutiques in a regional area close to you, look on LinkedIn for these. These jobs are rarely posted online, you'd need to network hard and convince them to bring you on as informal help, most places with a real intern program are done
Any idea on which regional boutiques are really strong / the top regional boutiques?
The "top" regional boutiques have long completed their summer recruiting, you need to find small like 10 man shops that don't have an official internship program.
There is a very outdated (like 2007) list if you search "Regional Boutiques by City" on here that gives a ton of boutiques by city, would be a good place to start
