Depends on the bank. I've heard of Barclays people working very normal hours (like 60 a week). I've also heard of MS/GS people absolutely sweating it, definitely breaking the 80-100 barrier. So ymmv.

Gotta remember that as an intern, not only do you have regular work but you have projects on top of your work + networking. Some banks don't hold back.

No limits for summer hours. I'm on a Tier 4 and the 20 hour limit is only in force during term time. If you’re on a student visa, this should apply to you, but the info will be right on your visa so be sure to check.

expect 9am-midnight. That’s what a family member was doing at an ibank in Canary Wharf. Expect to work on weekends and be alert and hope you can be finished by 6pm I’d say.

Kind of surprised that weekend work is still common. Do any banks enforce a policy of no work on weekends? Can understand some work on Sunday afternoon / eve to plan for the week or catch up on work. But work on Saturdays and Sunday morning?
