Impact of Minor in Posession on Job Offer
I recently received a job offer from a consulting firm contingent on a background check. I was charged with a MIP(Minor in Possession of Alcohol) during my Freshman year and I am a little concerned about how this might affect my job offer. I managed to get the charge dropped and avoided getting convicted for a misdemeanor by doing social work, paying a fine, etc. However, a record of this dropped charge still exists and I expect it to appear in my background check. Will this prevent me from getting the job? What do consulting firms think of an MIP charge?
Was this disclosed in the application?
The application did not ask me to list anything related to this. Also, this case was dismissed.
Should I contact HR and tell them about the MIP even though they never asked for it?
