Insight towards FINRA Licenses

Fellow Monkeys-

Had some questions as I am entering my last semester and doing two internships at IBs. I'm scheduled to take the Series 79 (which from what I hear is the more specific of the 7) in December in order to have something under my belt heading to Q1 2015 while studying for class, etc. .

-How have people studied for this specific license, let alone the 7, 63,66, etc. ? Any advice that you may have? How long did you study? What did you do before heading into the exam? How has it helped you? I also plan on taking the CFA Level 1 in July.

Thanks for the consideration.

Did you just have those practice exams strictly from the books, or did you include online resources? Which one(s) did you prefer? @"Banquero"
