Instant resume booster?

Hey guys,

need your input on boosting a resume....

if your currently unemployed...what would help you the most in terms of landing a job ASAP

enroll in a certificate program (harvard ext, nyu prof studies, byu program etc) so companies know your not wasting your time at home watching tv (plus helps with the alternative transcript/ unfortunately i need it / bad UG GPA)

or

Take the GMAT and do well and put "scored 7xx" (also has the benefit of getting it out of the way while you have time)

or

Do the CFA so you can put "enrolled in the CFA program/sitting for Dec 2011 (AM/ER firms could take you as a more serious candidate in the field)

or maybe a combo of one or more options?? inputs appreciated

I heard Instant Coffee, Instant Protein Shake but lol instant resume. hahahaha tomorrow you will say instant wife and instant son.

But seriously , unemployment is a black spot and you have to work 12 hrs a day during unemployment and you have treat unemployment like a job.

Say you start working at 7 am in the morning, you look for jobs for 5 hrs than you take extension program and other stuff for another 3 hrs, tan you prepare for GMAT for another 2 hrs and than you prepare for CFA for another 2-3 hrs.

You have to work even harder during the unemployment stage and remember there is no instant resume booster. lol

respectfully disagree. while most of what goes on a finance resume will require effort and work, i do think there are things that can give your resume an almost instant boost. One of these things is signing up for the CFA Level I (will be especially helpful for ER and IM). I would take this over signing up for an expensive certificate program with dubious credibility. it goes without saying, however, that studying for the CFA is an incredibly time-consuming process.

also, i don't know how much EC activities you are doing, but joining some sort of service organization does not take a lot of effort, can be a lot of fun, and looks good on the resume.

Money Never Sleeps? More like Money Never SUCKS amirite?!?!?!?
