Intern base different from analyst base? How does this work?
Hi Monkeys, I have recently received an OC offer from a leading AM firm in London (think T.Rowe/Capital/ Wellington) and I was quite surprised to hear the base for the role. The base for an intern (on a pa basis) is much lower than the base for a full-time analyst. I have always had intern salaries based on pro-rated analyst salaries, but I have never had the case that the intern base is different from analyst. Is this because this role is OC and not SA, have you guys come across this before? and is there room for negotiation in OC pay?
Well interns are more useless, its called derived demand (an economic concept, you probably dont know because you majored in underwater slime engineering and minored in computer video game sciences at a giga nontarget).
Best way to tell is the title: if it says "Summer Analyst", will be A1 base and if "Intern", will be below A1 base. Speak from experience on this one
Incoming SA at BB, my base is different from A1
That's an exception then. JPM?
Si senor. Is this a phenomenon with JPM and not other banks?
IK it happens at JPM from reading the other threads but not sure about all other banks. My friend joining MS is getting A1 base for instance, but don't have more datapoints
