interns: please write professional emails when cold calling

I have been receiving emails from college kids interested in IB and I see common things that I wanted to point out: 1. please have a professional email: [email protected] or something like that 2. personalize your emails. it is annoying that I keep getting the same template over and over again. check people’s linkedin or whatever. People will never leave work to respond to this copy pasted crap. (I personally prefer to be approached on LinkedIn because I think it’s creepy being bombarded with emails like that but that’s just me) 3. please be specific and say something about you and mention what you want to ask about.

hope this helps. happy to answer any questions.

Just don’t reply if you hate being approached by email, many people from AN to MD appreciate a well-organized template with their name/company printed correctly. No need to criticize one of best way to network just because you don’t like it and many of my friends certainly succeeded in this way. Everyone’s time is valuable.
