Currently recruiting for IB summer 2023, I go to school in the Northeast but I've been to Texas and I like the area a lot more than NYC/Philly. Good spot for opportunities? Anything non-energy focused (I know most of them are almost exclusively energy focused)? Any sort of direction would be great.

This is pretty broad. I recommend you look at Dallas and Houston threads on this website. But some non-energy stuff that comes to mind in Dallas are Jefferies PCA, Cowen, Houlihan, very small JPM CRG presence. Not sure about Houston but most of the big banks have their energy groups in Houston
