Interview - Building a Work Portfolio for Interview

Hello -

For years, graphic artists, journalists, teachers, and other creative professionals have used career portfolios while job-hunting, but it appears this is catching up with all types of job-seekers. Of course, to create a portfolio a professional has to have some experience, sorry if you just graduated with no transactions under the belt, but hopefully this is helpful to you in future.

Long story short, my medium is commercial real estate finance. Thus building a work portfolio is quite feasible. Similar to a mini pitch book it could be a compilation of a single properties or a real estate portfolio of 100m. But is it worth the time?

So, my main question at hand is:has anyone successfully used a portfolio tool during an interview? If so please share some tips and thoughts on:

1. what you included
2. any mistakes to avoid

Please preface your story with industry specific or type of interview.

Thanks much in advance for sharing your experience!
