Investment Banking Experienced Hire Qualifications

Looking for some insight regarding placement into the IB field with a background in Accounting. I will have my CPA as well as a year under my belt soon at a Big 4 Acct Firm in the Financial Services practice with both tax and audit experience. Have always aspired for a career on Wall Street, but need some guidance as far as my chances with this set of credentials. Business school is definitely something on my radar, however, have not sat for the GMAT. Any feedback would be appreciated from those knowledgable in the Experienced Hire recruitment process.

what about moving from bank to bank after your first year as an analyst?

it'll be easier for you to go to business school and then into IBanking, then account into IBanking.

the fundamental difference between IBankers and Accoutants is that IBankers manipulate the numbers, while Accountants check over the numbers.

i worked at one of the big4s for about 8 months before i switched to banking... it's difficult to get interviews, but if you are consistent and be well prepared for the interviews, you shouldnot hv any problems getting into banking.. i would recommend to start at a boutique bank and get some experience first, then work your way into bulge brackets..
