How many of you guys pull this stunt at corporate function? I've done it once and felt pretty bad but also felt awkward to announce that i was leaving.
It should be fine. People might just assume you went back to work.
Always leave them wanting more, right?
Well what about functions afterwork when your out getting drinks but there's a rather large group say 15 - 20 people.

I can't see a problem with dipping out without saying formal goodbyes. They may not even notice you've left!
