Is an exploratory interview a real interview?

Hey guys,

I got an email from HR of a bank saying they received my resume and want to talk this week. I know most internship slots have already been filled so is this a first round interview or something else?

Doesn't matter. Treat every interaction, especially phone and face-to-face interaction as if it were a formal interview.

100% I will treat it as a formal interview, but I was curious if this is similar to a first round interview in the sense that I might have an opportunity to get an internship, or at least to another interview round, or if this is the same as an informational interview.

Of that I am not sure. Sounds like that phone call would be a good time to find out!
