I was referred to a recruiter at a BB by someone else at the firm. The recruiter requested my resume and more information, which I then provided. Does this situation possibly give me any advantage for summer analyst recruiting?

I would also appreciate any other advice as far as communicating with the recruiter (perhaps request an informative interview or referrals to professionals for exposure).

Assume that if the recruiter is willing to spend time talking to you that it's worth their time at least until they find out more about you. Asking about your chances signals insecurity, which may be all they need to know to stop talking to you. It's worthless information anyways - you'll find out soon enough whether you get an interview.
