Is it appropriate to ask a recruiter if..
I was referred to a recruiter at a BB by someone else at the firm. The recruiter requested my resume and more information, which I then provided. The subsequent recommendation was that I should apply to the summer internship program. My question is whether it is professional to inquire of my likelihood of getting an interview. Does this situation possibly give me any advantage for summer analyst recruiting?
I would also appreciate any other advice as far as communicating with the recruiter (perhaps request an informative interview or referrals to professionals for exposure).
no takers?
Look yourself in the mirror with that type of question, i banking isn't for the weak, you make me kind of ill.
I do not classify myself as weak, but thanks for the tip.
The question is valid because the tendencies to conformity and meticulousness in the field seem so prevalent in the exposure that I
are you a student applying to an internship program? or an expirience candidate?
I'm a student applying to the summer analyst program from a non-target state school. I've had two previous non-IB summer internships. My GPA is okay (3.6) and I'm working on strengthening my ECs.
Assume that if the recruiter is willing to spend time talking to you that it's worth their time at least until they find out more about you. Asking about your chances signals insecurity, which may be all they need to know to stop talking to you. It's worthless information anyways - you'll find out soon enough whether you get an interview.
