Is it even worth trying? Low GPA Recruiting

I am at a regional target and I have a 2.45 GPA - I failed two courses my freshman spring. I am doing computer science. I am improving - this semester was a success but I obviously won't be able to get my GPA above 3 before interviews. I started networking and no one has brought up the topic but it's eventually going to come up in the future and I really don't know what to say. Am I wasting my time? If anyone has gone through a similar situation pls dm me I'd really appreciate any advice.

If I were you I would just do tech (SWE), I don’t think gpa even matters because it’s all about hard skills

I have a feeling that you already knew the answer to this before you even posted. There isn’t a point of posting this kind of stuff on this app because the survivorship bias here is immense. Most people on here legit think it’s impossible to break in unless you go to a target with a 3.5+, but people break in all the time without that background. The bottom line is that you knew the answer you were going to get before you posted, you can either listen to what other people think you can do based on the three pieces of information that you gave (comp sci, 2.45, non target), or you can keep your head down, and keep grinding to get an offer. Posting on here asking what other people think isn’t going to get you an offer. I’m in the same boat as you my guy, keep going. Fuck anyone who says you can’t do it.
