Is it possible to do a co-op internship when....
Is it possible for me to do a co-op internship even if my university doesn't have a program?
I know some firms like Fidelity and Wellington have co-ops each year, but can I still apply to these programs?
Do they have open applications?
Yes. You dont need to go to a structured one either. Just cold call/email alums who work near your university. Thats what I did, and got 2 co-ops in my school's area during my final year in school.
"Hi, Im a junior at xxx. I'm interested in learning more about yyy bank/firm/fund. My coursework is fairly light this semester, and I wanted to know if you needed some volunteer help around your office. I believe I stand to learn a lot more about zzz by actively using the skills I have developed during my time at xxx."
or, just ask for informational interviews, then ask if they need help toward the end.
Thanks, that's definitely helpful.
Is it still possible to get into the structured program? I'm ahead in credits and am taking off the semester so I could work fulltime
