Is it rude to ask to see someone's reusme?
Hi, I have been contacting this alumni who, unfortunately, happended to quit his investment banking job. He and I kind a have similarity(both non-finance majors) and I would like to see his resume that he used for his junior internship interviews. Is it kind a rude to ask him if I could see his reseume? is it a too personal thingy?
I'd find this request odd and wouldn't feel comfortable handing mine over.
Why is unfortunate that he quit his IB job? If he did this voluntarily, surely he's happy having made that choice.
I've asked a friend if I could see his resume before and he was cool with that, but I wouldn't ask somebody who I wasn't close with.
Just go on LinkedIn. He likely has all of his previous experience on there along with responsibilities he likely put on his resume as well. Aside from that the formatting would be the only thing you wouldn't be able to see.
It would be weird to ask him for his resume unless he's a friend. Maybe ask him to take a look at your resume and critique it. Or if you could take a look at his undergrad resume because I'm assuming you're looking to break into IB. His current resume probably wouldn't be applicable to what you want your resume to look like anyway.
