Is networking after receiving an interview pointless?
Hey monkeys,
Summer Analyst recruiting is ramping up again and I’ve received a first and second round (phone screen and virtual meeting) for 2 of my top banks so far. Is networking even effective at this point or should I just focus on the places I haven’t received invites for yet?
Thanks!
Which banks are your top choices?
I’ve found networking at this stage to be really helpful. You can determine specific things about the banks culture that makes for a very good Why x bank answer. Also, if you have good relationships you can ask them to mock interview you which is very helpful.
I guess I could've phrased my question more directly. Would it drastically effect the decision-making on whether or not an investment bank would hire me, or will my interviews speak for itself?
from my experience, for people I networked with, sometimes they’d reach out and get feedback from the interviewer and pass it along to me.
when it comes go superdays, the interviewers generally meet right after and rank, so your network may not work there so much. just my 2 cents from what i’ve experienced
