So I've been home from college the past month and have had a few interviews at MM IBs the past two weeks. Two of the the interviews started out as informal but kind of turned into an actual interview. At the place I want to work, the guy seemed really eager to help me out in my career path. He said he would find out if there office (recently opened an office in LA) is having a formal internship program and if so he would get me involved in it. If not, he said, they would try and see if they could offer me an informal internship. It's a great firm, good deal flow and exit ops.
Anyway, I was wondering if this was really my last shot to land an IB SA position? I go to school in the Midwest and wont be able to fly back for an interview, possibly for spring break.
Should I keep trying in LA if the places I'm talking with don't pan out? Or should I focus on Chicago or Kansas City to see if I can't land an interview there? Both a bit of a drive, but doable for an interview.
