Is this bad form?

I got to final round interviews with a boutique consulting firm last year. I told them I was doing a one year teaching fellowship and was hoping to defer. They didn't have a standard policy and the recruiter ultimately decided that they wouldn't be able to defer me. They didn't give me an offer but essentially put me in the final consideration (I guess waiting to see how many other candidates would reject their offer). I haven't been in contact with them since. However, I do see on my school's Career Services Job Board that they are hiring again for the same position. Would it be okay to email the recruiting coordinator directly and ask to be considered again? Should I resend in my information? Should I just ask if they still have my file? etc. etc.

Go for it, even if you had been axed in the first round I would say go for it.
