Is this PE firm Wasting my Time??

Guys, I have been unemployed for some time now (NO FAULT OF MY OWN) and recently interviewed with a large asset management firm during which I had a video call with 3 folks - MD from the PE Team, MD from HR and a Senior Principal in the PE team - simultaneously. At the end of the video call, the next day, I emailed a thank you note to all 3 together.

The MD from HR responded back copying the other two and wrote: Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with us. It was really great to hear about your experience.
We will be back to you in the coming weeks.

The MD from the PE team responded back to me separately, writing: It was nice meeting you as well. [MD from HR] will be in touch.

The phrase "coming weeks" used by the HR MD gives me the feeling that it might be a while before I hear back from them. It's already been 2 weeks. When do you think I should follow up if at all? I know folks have a lot going on these days but at the same time my mind has been killing me. Should I even be optimistic about this given what the MDs wrote?? Thanks a bunch...

Lots could be at play here. Firstly, COVID-19 is likely taking up the bulk of both HR and investment teams’ time, so that could be the hold-up. Secondly, it’s off-cycle season, so funds can take their sweet time and keep you in limbo as they interview a ton of other candidates.

Of course, you may very well have been cut — firms tend to follow up more slowly (if at all) when this is the case, with the above two points slowing their response even more so.
