JOB MARKET PREDICTIONS???

Considering all the recent bad news - layoffs, financial regulations, financial losses, recession, etc etc - the job market for prospective monkeys does not seem to appealing. I've read through so many posts on WSO about shitty bonuses, getting laid off, and more bad news. As a prospective monkey, I am concerned, to say the least, about the future job market.

Anyone have any thoughts / predictions on what's going to happen with the job market? Is this part of a cycle or is it a secular decline?

Part of what cycle?... Has bonuses declined substantially in the beginning of every century? If you haven't noticed/read a book/ listened to the news/ or partake in human-like activities, we are clearly in an awful economic state. '12 was the worse year for grads to grad........ and i doubt it is getting any better. With banks slimmin down on their size, it will be even harder next year as a '13 grad to get a "prestigious" job.. so you should probably reconsider your career and take waitressing jobs like 60% of the '12 grads. GODSPEED
