Junior recruiting: do you really need previous finance experience?
Hi everyone, I've posted a few threads about breaking into IBD/S&T from a non-finance background before, but nowadays I keep on hearing the importance of a boutique internship or a PWM internship after sophomore year. Do people know of cases where people have broken in without finance experience? Of course, I'm going to do my best in any case, but it would be a relief to know if others do it and what extra tips anyone might have...
Target school or not? Liberal arts majors do get in. Best advice to you and anyone is always to keep GPA up and network
This. If you are from a target school, it matters a lot less, you just need to have a good story and know your fundamentals. However, if you're non target, it is definitely significantly more difficult.
