Most consultancies have a banking focused team, and you may be able to switch directions within the firm. So yeah, if they asked to be kept in the loop, I would let them know.
Within a consulting firm you are always client-facing, maybe one day your banking contact needs something and you can land a nice contract for your colleagues in that space.
