Last Minute Route to IB

I'm looking for ideas/advice on how to land a FT IB/PE role after missing on cycles for SA 2027. I transferred schools from a Canadian semi-target to a target school hoping to break into finance (I only decided on finance mid 2nd year). Because I was still trying to find a 3rd yr summer role, I didn't try much for 2027 SA roles that would ultimately give a return when I graduated.

Now, I find myself working at a small PE shop in Toronto (not a search fund), with a top tier Canadian PE role for the fall (no chance for return) and am trying to find the opportunities that are still available for me to break into IB/PE in Toronto or the US. I am a Canadian Citizen (no VISA) and am set to graduate in April 2028 (5 years undergrad including my upcoming "internship year"). This gives me Fall 2026, Winter and Summer 2027 to work additionally to graduating in 4 years.

Any insight into firms that have later timelines would be appreciated, as well as personal experience recruiting full time into finance in your junior/senior years.

Thanks!
