Why are you looking to lateral to another bank? Especially in your first year? I generally think that's a bad idea unless you just absolutely despise working at your current shop.
I don't think you have to begin with that ask. Just ask for a normal phone call/meeting about the bank in general (which is useful information anyway), and then ask after if they know anyone in X group.
