Lateral as First Year Analyst

How common is it for firms to take lateral analysts, especially if I'm willing to start over as a 1st Year Analyst and am coming from a regional EB/BB? Are firms like PJT/EVR in NY receptive? How about BBs in NY?

They will be receptive but you do have to have valid reasons for leaving your current firm and at least some good experience you can talk about.

You're going to have to make them understand why you want to leave your job at your current firm because everyone will have different thoughts in their heads. Some might think you aren't performing as well while others might think you aren't getting along with the people in your group (you would have to convince them and hopefully this is true that it's a culture difference that is not your fault as in you are not the weird one that the group doesn't like because of a bad reason).
