Lateraling from cb internship to ib ft advice

Summary says it all. Corporate banking is a great experience and I’m really looking forward to everything else I will learn… with that being said I am more interested in the day to day aspects of ib over cb. I’m curious about the timeline for doing that if gonna graduate next may, and advice on when to start applying and networking. I assume it is more safe to wait till later in summer so I have more a story as to why I want to switch rather than be a red flag networking 2 weeks into my internship. Thanks
