Liberal Arts or Undergrad Business

Personally I went through business school to get to a bank...but how successful is the other route?

Are results the same when someone goes to say an NYU or UPenn, takes classes at Stern and Wharton but gets a BA in Econ. or is it better to do straight up Stern or Wharton and get a BS in Science.

And also could we use qualifiers here...like if someone is better at math, they should just do straight business.

Thanks guys
