London BB/Boutique SA 2010 Positions Already Filled?

What is your perspective on the following:

I have understood that majority (~all) of the London-based BB/boutique SA positions tend to get filled prior to the expiry of official deadlines (~couple of weeks left) for applying on-line.

Any chance for applying SA 2010 positions anymore through on-line?

Thanks, appreciated.

Brown, is it worth applying to UK banks as a US state school kid? I feel like it would be a complete waste with all the work they'd have to go through to interview me etc when they can just drop down to LSE or Oxbridge and round up some local talent?

I am a British citizen btw.

Definitely apply. I've heard of people from as far as USA and Australia in London summer programs.

I think you should apply. I think EMEA takes online apps more seriously. Usually you have to take some kind of online numerical/verbal test and if you pass you get a phone interview. I know of a girl in Boston who applied for BarWealth and they flew her to the UK for the AC. The fact that you are a British citizen can only help.

My biggest problem is that I never finished A Levels as I was offered admission straight after AS. Just for the record I don't go to a completely shite state school, it's top 50 US and top 20 public so it's not like some random school but the majority of the UK apps I've seen request A level results and I have no idea what to put there, any advice?

Cheers guys
