Perhaps a little bit, but as a junior it’s your skills that matter not the reputation of the place you were previously at. If you do indeed want to do PE, IB, or consulting long term, I would take IB/M&A at a tier 2 bank (e.g. Cantor, DC Advisory, CACIB) over a sales role at BlackRock

UBS is still a good name btw. We are hiring juniors for my fund right now and trust me we would rather take a candidate with shit hot modelling skills from a no name bank than a candidate from MS that can’t model for shit. Perhaps a different story at D/MD level. If you want to break into PE you need to pass modelling tests. You will be dealing with models all day in IB, you will never get that kind of exposure in sales.
