Lying about networking

Hi guys, I have a BB phone interview in London coming up next week but they rejected me for all their networking events. Now I need a good reason for 'Why this Bank'. Can I get away with lying about going to their events and meeting them?

All the banks keep careful records of who is invited to which recruiting events. This is how they filter out candidates over the course of the recruiting season. They already know you weren't invited to whichever events. Lying about it will not only reveal you as completely pathetic (they already knew that, which is why they stopped inviting you to their events), but also unethical and dishonest - not to mention stupid. Not the move.

Just play it cool. Sometimes they make mistakes and invite / dis-invite the wrong people (I've seen it happen). Sometimes you can build a relationship and change someone's mind. Be happy you got an invite to whatever event this is and go in with a great attitude and confidence.
