MBA or not? Advice needed

Hello dear fellows, I’m currently going through a sort of mid-life crisis. A bit of context: - I have 5.5 years of work experience - started in consumer goods companies in International Sales and BD. Later on, I went through a VC program for 4 months in SF whereby I gained real VC experience - the goal was to switch to VC/startups and currently I’m in a leadership role at a VC-backed startup. I am considering a transition to full-time to finance (ideally VC or PE in mid/big funds) and currently I don’t see feasibility if not by either lateraling in management consulting or joining an MBA program. I’d really like to avoid a 2-year MBA program though as I’ be over 30 once it is over. Anyone who went through a similar path? What would you guys do? I would love to hear your thoughts.
