middle market investment bank vs corp fin analyst at a growing tech company ~$1B in rev
Debating if I should leave my current MM role for a corp fin role that incorporates P&L reporting, strategy with senior execs, high visibility, analyzing investments and doing business cases. The role works with many departments, and seems to have a lot of responsility. It pays about 70k all in, but would certainly be more of a "career" role to me. The MM I am at is a no name and might be about 80k all in (live in a cheap city), and the hours are ~50, so nothing crazy. The corp fin will be about the same hours. I have been at the MM for a year, and debating if I should stay two more years, and then switch to a Sr. analyst role in corp america. I know I should probably lateral, but assuming that isn't an option, based on this info, would you make the switch?
