MM Return Offers

Hey guys,

Currently interning at a MM and HR said that there is going to be lower return offer rate than usual. CEO/CFO said that they are making cuts on balance sheet in last earnings call. My team is small, but it has outperformed the other groups in terms of fee growth. There are 3 IB interns here every year and despite my good performance (for an intern) I am worried that I am fucked. My GPA sunk after I received my SA offer and some sage advice would be like heroine right now.

Thanks

Honestly keep your head up, man. Job market is strained right now, so if you in fact have been doing a good job and don’t receive the return you have to realize some things are out of one’s control. That said, I’m sure they’ll do their best to retain top talent.

Having an IB internship on your resume is probably better experience than majority of the peers at your school assuming you don’t attend an ivy. Things will shake out for the best, and when the dust settles I’m sure you will have solid job prospects by the time you’re ready to graduate.

Finish strong.
