Move from B4 to Barclays

Currently I work at B4 in audit, but have recently interviewed for a position at Barclays in their Banking Regulatory reporting. Having spoke with the human resource correspondent today, things are looking good for me getting the position.

My question is, would this be a good move to get myself down the analyst/equity research type position? Also, though Barclays has their problems, can anyone please comment on their work environment or thoughts the position/company?

Few quick facts:
-I have been working in the auditing/accounting world for about 4 years and am trying to break out into finance -I have been at B4 since a little under one year -Ultimately, I don't see myself in auditing/accounting

Any insight would be great. Thanks.

Hey, I would say it is a little bit hard for a transition from back office to front office (i assume that is your goal). I've seen people who worked in Big 4 for 4-5 years and come to IB as first year analysts, while the second year analysts in the firm still think they are rookies (in terms of modeling skills). But from a positive perspective, a position in Barclays will give you strong network which may lead you to where you want to be. So I'd say fight for a chance.

Personally I think the another way to get into IB is to get a MBA degree in a target school. The chance is much higher.
