Moving Start Date a few days

I just got a FT offer from a HF. I'll be graduating this december and they want me to start right after the new year (January 3-4th). I'd prefer to start the following Monday around the 9th or something. Is it bad to ask them if that is possible? Will they look down on it?

Ask them... If you're going to work for them for the next 2+ years than I doubt 5-7 days delay will matter.

However, if you had to drug test then you may have a certain time limit to begin full-time staffing. I have run into this problem before b/c of 90-day limit to drug pass approval so it was impossible to delay employment w/out taking another drug test and delaying that process another 2-3 weeks (for administering & awaiting results).

JUST ASK

Are you laughing? Have you not seen the 3,000 threads asking about drug tests and background checks here!?
I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.
