My goal is to land 2023 IB internship next year, currently a freshman.
I have seen a lot about IB technical prep but what are internship interviews like. What should you know, do you need to know as much as you should know for a normal IB job interview?
Thanks for replies in advance, greatly appreciated.
I would make sure that you can walk through a three statement model and understand most of the basic questions from the technical guides.
Do you have any accounting experience up to this point. If not I would find a way to take whatever intro to accounting courses at your university as quickly as possible.
Agree with the above - accounting is key, even if you are not asked to do a model you still need to have the mechanics down. Also, sophomore programs at BBs are extremely hard to land (aroud 100 spots total across all banks) and a large majority of those spots are for diversity candidates. Definitely apply, but focus your efforts/expectations on boutiques in your local region.
Also just to throw this out there since you seem like a striver - it's good to find finance early but make sure you still have involvement in other things, people will ding you if your resume solely has finance on it and no other interests/involvement. Freshman year is a great time to join non-finance clubs on campus and get leadership positions before sophomore year recruiting.
