need feedback asap

I emailed a boutique bank to see if they were hiring an analyst FT 08 and got a response from the MD.

The e-mail initially when to either an associate/analyst (no title in his footer)

Who forwarded the e-mail to the MD with the following message:

"The guy knows how to use mail merge..."

The MD asked for my resume to "keep on file", should I address the fact that the firm was actually referred to me by someone on this site and it wasn't a mass mail or will that come across as arrogant?? Please advise
