need help deciding on which summer internship

So I am a junior right now and currently have the following choices for this summer. 1. Deloitte Beijing, corporate finance group 2. a private equity firm at Chicago

My question is, if I want to pursue a career in the States after graduation, which internship is a better choice?

seeing that this is your summer before senior year, you should go with PE in chicago.

if this was a summer after your freshman year, i would be inclined to say go to beijing because you would probably have more interesting things to talk about (cultural/international experience) and would have an opportunity to do something boutique related the summer after your sophomore year...

would people agree?

if you would compare 2 with 1, i dare say this PE is very small. anyway, i say go to PE in Chicago as long as it's not your family business.

more details on the PE firm?? not all PE firms are equal.. some are much more legit than others, even when you are comparing boutique vs boutique. a buddy of mine had a PE internship where he worked from his apartment and just sent in research to his boss once a week. it was unpaid, and he didn't learn anything. obviously not a typical scenario, but you get what i mean.
