Need help here with my background check

I accepted an offer on the trading floor at Morgan Stanley. Weeks passed after my fingerprinting and I never received a phone call so my friends were telling me this is one way of me knowing i didn't get the job. Although i have nothing to hide.

I called Morgan Stanley and spoke with the woman who interviewed me and she said this is normal and its an annoying process. My question is its been since June 20th that i accepted and got fingerprinted. I called her one month later on July 31st. Its August 7th now. What gives? Im told everything is fine but this is very strange.

Has anybody had something similar? Going on 5 weeks now since the fingerprinting.
