Need Urgent Networking Advice

Hey y'all -

Hope you're well. I have been struggling immensely this week with networking.

I'm not diversity/connected and so I know networking is pretty much the only way to get a University internship in my first few years. I set up phone calls with a BB IB analyst, IB director, and HF analyst but I am scared out of my mind. I have spent hours trying to craft the right questions/story/conversation agenda and can't sleep at night because I have no idea how to actually have these phone calls (worried they will be awkward or forced and I don't know how to move through the conversation fluidly). I really consider myself a confident person with my speaking (I think I have a good number of friends/can connect easily with others, have been recognized for my presentation skills, etc.) and was able to chat with some analysts last year -- although I felt all those calls were like I was interrogating them and that I couldn't lead the conversation at all.

Any tips? I think I'm psyching myself out at this point thinking I won't know what to say on these phone calls; now, I can't get the rest I need and I am so scared for these calls and it is pretty much dominating my life. I know the number of chats I will have to do will increase exponentially in the next few months so I would love to hear any advice from you all.

Thanks!
