Networking and Emailing

Hi guys,
I'm a sophomore at a target, and my roommate's dad is a regional CEO of one of the BBs, I got his email from my roommate, and I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to email him (to get a connection there -- hoping to land an SA gig next year...)

But after a quick browse through the forums, there have been mentions of people getting "blacklisted" after sending emails to C-level guys.

Any thoughts?

Just ask your roommate to talk to his dad for you. Say that you want to learn more about the industry bla bla bla. Worst case, his dad tells him to tell you to *#$ off or go to an on campus info session
