Networking and LinkedIn Questions!!

Hi! I am so new to this whole process and would really appreciate any advice!!

Networking
1.) Roughly how many people should you strive to talk to at each firm? ik everyone says "as many as you can" but seriously please give me a ballpark target!
2.) Is it actually socially acceptable to reach out to complete strangers via LinkedIn or email? (if you are professional in doing so) I really don't want to come across as too pushy, so I'd love to know how this is perceived from the other side!

LinkedIn
1.) Should you put your sat score? What would be the cutoff score (as in the minimum acceptable score worth putting?) and can you put your "super-score if you specify each sub score?
2.) Will potential employers hold it against you if you do not have a professional business headshot? - Is it better to have no picture at all if you don't have a business headshot?

  1. I would say at least until someone says they will push your resume to HR/Recruiting team and put in a good word for you. Personally I found that 5 is a decent target.

  2. I only reached out to people that I had something in common with, but I think it's fine as long as you keep it professional. Worst case they ignore you, who cares?

  3. Don't know, but haven't seen many people put SAT on LinkedIn. I would think 1500+?

  4. Pic is a must in my opinion. I would not respond to someone with no pic. I would think that they are too insecure about their looks and probably can't handle the job.
