Networking with alumni - Cold Emails

I've sent quite a few cold emails over the past week and was wondering how long it usually takes analysts/associates to respond. Furthermore, when should I send follow up emails (in the event that they don't respond) and should these emails be a "copy-paste" of the first email sent?

For me, I usually follow up ~8-9 days after the first email if I don't get a response. Go to a target, get a ~33% response rate from the first email, a ~20% response rate from the second. Don't copy/paste your first or second, draft an email that you send on first emails and one you send on follow-up emails. The more unique/personal you make your first and second emails, the more likely you are to get a response. I make a point to reference that I emailed them last week & wanted to follow up.
