Networking with board members

I'm interning at a company with a lot of board members and they all have offices in the building, albeit usually not there. I was wondering how I could network with these people as some of them have very impressive backgrounds. Do I try and setup an informational interview via email or do I just go to their office and chat them up a bit? Something like, "Hey I read a bit about your background and was interested in learning more, are you free to talk for a bit?". How do you get them to help you with your job search after? I don't want to come off as rude or anything by suggesting I'm trying to bolt from the firm after my internship.

Thanks for any help
