New York Life Agent

Hello Everyone. So i'm currently considering being an agent at NYL and the following is a detailed description of the benefits and the compensation of the company emailed to me from the branch manager. I'm pretty unfamiliar with the structure (Considering I've never had sufficient education of the two respective topics). Could someone please interpret this information for me in simple english and let me know if the benefits and compensation NYL is adequate compared to other companies? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

"For benefits our agents can pick and choose medical plans, dental and get disability, life. NYL pays about 70% of the cost. There are two retirement plans a 401(k) and a defined benefit pension plan, both are fully funded by NYL (no contributions from you).
Your comp program is a three part process from the start; commissions + training allowance + bonuses. The commissions on our life products are either 50% or 55% (most). Annualized - all paid at the beginning even if the customer pays monthly! The TAS is paid monthly based upon your commissions and you can get up to (about) $36K in your first year from that part alone (plus the commissions). Any TAS not earned rolls over to your second year which is about $22K, the third year of TAS is about $12K. The renewal commissions are based on customer payments after the policy has been in force for a year. The first renewal year is 6%, then 10, 15, and maxed at 20%. There are more bonuses such as "expense allowance"."
